Full Description

An area of possible quarrying on the east side of Sliding Hill is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs taken in the 1940s (1). The extraction line appears to form a linear scarp and may be partly natural in origin. The scarp is still visible on the latest Google Earth imagery (2) though now under low scrub and woodland. The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
