Listed Building record MDO38495 - Grovehouse Farmhouse, Bourton

Two storey eighteenth century farmhouse with rubble walls and a tiled roof. There are nineteenth century additions on the north and north west sides.

Grovehouse Farmhouse of two storeys with rubble walls has a main range of the 18th century with 19th century extensions on the north and north west. From at least 1839 until 1874, part of the site was used as a maltings, although the malthouse arm, shown on the 1839 Tithe Map, had been demolished by 1885, save for a a small portion at the west end, and wall connecting to the house.

'(11) Grovehouse Farm (76383035), house, is two-storeyed and has rubble walls and tiled roofs. The main range is of the 18th century and there are 19th-century extensions on the N. and N.W. The W. front of the main range has a central doorway with a flat hood resting on moulded timber brackets. Casement windows in each storey have timber lintels and wrought-iron casements with leaded glazing. Inside, at the N. end of the original range is an open fireplace with a moulded stone surround, probably of the 18th century.'
