Full Description
Several units of narrow ridge and furrow are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1948 at Shave Farm (1). The parallel features run roughly east-west. They were digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP. They are considered to be the remains of 19th century ploughing but a more recent origin is possible. The cultivation marks have since largely been levelled by modern ploughing and only a small area is still extant on the lastest Google Earth imagery.
