Full Description

Several units of narrow ridge and furrow are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1948 to the south and southwest of Stock Mill south of the River Char (1). The ploughed ridges were digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP. They are considered to be the remains of 19th or early century ploughing but a more recent origin is possible. The cultivation marks have since been partially levelled but some were still extant in 2009(2).

Depicted as an orchard on the 1:25-inch scale Ordnance Survey map published in 1889.
