Summary

A hollow, 20m across, is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1947 to the north of Crabbs Bluntshay Farm. It is marked on the OS 1st Edition map abutting the southern side of a removed field boundary. It is considered to be a post medieval extractive pit or dewpond and was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.

Full Description

A hollow, 20m across, is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1947 to the north of Crabbs Bluntshay Farm (1). It is marked on the OS 1st Edition map abutting the southern side of a removed field boundary. It is considered to be a post medieval extractive pit or dewpond and was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP. The site has been levelled and is not longer visible on the latest Googel Earth imagery.
