Full Description
A large rectangular banked enclosure with associated trackway and fragments of field boundaries are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1947 to the north of South Buckham Farm (1). The enclosure is 55m by 40m across with a trackway running along it's western side. South Buckham Farm has a 16th or 17th century farmhouse and these earthworks are considered to be associated with the post medieval farmstead or be of earlier origin. The features have since been levelled and are no longer visible on more recent Dorset vertical photographs. The features were digitally plotted during the Masrhwood Vale NMP.
