Full Description

No surviving earthworks of associated features could be discerned. <2>

One of a group of four ring ditches visible on aerial photograph ST9502/8. Probably a Bronze Age round barrow but possibly a hut circle levelled by ploughing. The Romano-British scatter 112,029 overlies this the northern site in the group. The site was field walked in 1987 and fragments of Bronze Age pottery were found with the Roman pottery. There is no visible trace as an earthwork but it was clearly visible on the ground in February 1989 as a soil mark. The ring ditch measured 13m diameter and 2m wide. <3>
