‘(2) COTTAGES, two (25 yds. N.E.), of two storeys with walls of coursed rubble and dressed flint and with a thatched roof, were built in the 17th century. They were originally a single house of one storey and attics which was heightened in the 18th century and extended to the E. in the following century by the addition of a cottage and barn.’
