Full Description
SY 467 941. Three strip lynchets 440 yards long and 35-40 yards wide, overlook the River Brit. <1>
Parallel banked linears are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1948 to the east of Washingpool Farm, Allington. They run roughly NNE-SSW along the contour and are considered likely to be medieval strip lynchets or enclosed strip fields. The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP project. The features are overlain by the post medieval lynchets described in MDO37494. <3-4>
