Summary

A linear banked feature is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1948 on the western bank of the River Simene east of Old Warren Hill. The feature follows the natural contour and may be a medieval or later lynchet or a natural feature. The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP project.

Full Description

A linear banked feature is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1948 on the western bank of the River Simene east of Old Warren Hill. The feature follows the natural contour and may be a medieval or later lynchet or a natural feature. The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP project (1). It is no longer visible on recent lidar imagery having been levelled and partially destroyed by a modern trackway.
