Full Description

Compton Down. 15 paces in diameter and 1ft high OS Arch (NV Quinell) 23 Jan 1956: almost ploughed out by 1978. <3>

ST 88241908 A grass covered mound with no visible ditch, measuring 14.0m in diameter and 0.3m in height. It is probably a bowl barrow. (Scheduled as a round barrow). <1>

ST 88241910 This probable bowl barrow has been almost completely destroyed by ploughing. All that now remains is a slight barely perceptible ground swelling of dark flinty soil, some 12.0m in diameter. A slight soil mark is visible at this position on OS air photographs <2.1>. Sited on 1:2500 AM for AO Records only. <2>
