Monument record MDO37208 - Burials of early medieval date, 1 West Hill, Charminster

Please read our .

Summary

Eleven, possibly twelve, graves were exposed and recorded archaeologically during groundworks for an extension to the house in 2000. No dating evidence was recovered, it is thought likely that these burials are of Saxon/early medieval date. Historic maps suggest that the site was once within a much larger churchyard, probably associated with the Saxon Minster church.
