Full Description
Nash Farm is a 16th century flint and rubble 2 storey building with a 17th century addition on the south east a and an 18th century wing on the north. It retains some stone-mullioned windows on the south front. <2-3>

‘The following monuments, unless otherwise described, are of the 17th century and of two storeys; the walls are of rubble and the roofs, where old, are thatched. Several of the buildings have exposed ceiling-beams and original fireplaces. … (14) Nash Farm, house 1,050 yards S.W. of the church, was built in the 16th century but has a 17th-century addition on the S.E. and an 18th-century wing on the N. The house retains some stone-mullioned windows. Inside the building there is a plank partition (Plate 51) and the W. part of the house has panelled open ceilings with original moulded beams and plates.’

SY 39 NE 5/39 MARSHWOOD NASH LANE Nash Farmhouse

Farmhouse C.1400 roof and core, with C16 and C17 and later alterations. Rubble walls, rendered. Stone mullions. "Turnerized" slate roofs with stone copings to gable-ends. One front wall stack, with modern brick capping. 2 brick stacks, renewed, at each gable. Gross-Passage plan, with gabled-in original extension at lower end, possibly store-house. Originally open hall, left of Screens, in C15. 2 storeys.C.4 windows: stone mullions, hollow-chamfered of 3 and 4 lights. Iron casements C17 and square leaded lights. Plank front door immediately right of front stack, with strap hinges. Rendered porch. West gable wall: protruding rubble stack with set-offs.
Left and low down: small 4-centred wooden window with hollow chamfered surround. Interior: arch-braced collar-beam roof, supported on wooden corbels, c.1400. Front stack fireplace, c.1400. Hall and Parlour with C16 moulded ceiling beams, forming ceiled compartments. C16 Plank-and-Muntin partitions to screns and Parlour. 2 depressed-arch service door-heads (integral) blocked in C17. Open fireplace in kitchen with wooden lintel, part-blocked. Stone fireplace in solar upstairs, c.1400.
