Full Description
A lime kiln recorded by Peter Stanier. This kiln is not shown on the the second edition (1900-2) Ordnance Survey map, and the source of his information is not known. The date of this kiln is not known but it is most probably nineteenth century. The site was visited in 1992-93 by Dr Stanier, who could find no trace of the kiln structure. A large extractive, pit possibly associated with the kiln, is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery [2] and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
