Summary

A parish church built in the later nineteenth century, mostly around 1877-78, with early twentieth-century additions. The walls are mainly of squared and coursed rubble with ashlar dressings, and it has a slate roof. The church incorporates material from, and re-uses the foundations of, an earlier church, consecrated in 1813.

Full Description

'(1) THE PARISH CHURCH OF ST GEORGE (76843030) stands in the W.part of the village. The walls are of squared and coursed rubble with greensand ashlar dressings; the roofs are slated. A church was consecrated in 1813, but it was entirely rebuilt in 1880, reusing the old foundations (Faculty, Sarum, Dioc. Regy.).
