Summary

Excavations in advance of the development of Stour Park retail site, Blandford St Mary during 1993 revealed evidence for Late Bronze Age activity. This comprised a probable ring ditch and at least one urned cremation burial.

Full Description

These features were sealed beneath a horizon of weathered gravel and comprised small pits, one of which contained an urned cremation and a section of curving ditch that may represent the remains of a destroyed round barrow [1].
