Summary

A circular crop mark visible on aerial photographs taken by John Boyden in 1973. The site is interpreted as a ring-ditch; possibly the remains of a Bronze Age round barrow. The site was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM Project.

BOYDEN FLT.64 4 MARCH 1973 NE OF MIDDLE FARM ?ROUND BARROW

Cropmarks of a single ring ditch, probably the remains of a Bronze Age round barrow visible at ST 8741 0514 on aerial photographs taken in 2015 as part of the Historic England Reconnaissance Recording Programme.<1>

The ring ditch is 22m with traces of an internal mound [1], [5]. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM Project is considered to be the remains of a Bronze Age round barrow.
