‘Observation 4: SY 78208745 (Fig.1).
A previously unrecorded, V-profiled ditch was identified during construction south-east of Tinker’s Barrow Plantation. The ditch was aligned approximately north-south and was 3m wide and 1.5m deep from the base of the topsoil. The base of the ditch was filled with brown gravely sands; the upper fills consisted of dark grey-brown silty sands and gravels. There was no surviving evidence for a bank to the east or west of the ditch. No material was recovered from the ditch fills and the feature must remain undated.’
