Summary

A bridge carrying Watery Lane over the river Frome between Woodsford and Tincleton. The present bridge is thought to have been built in the late eighteenth or early nineteenth century.

Full Description

Frome Bridge situated near Woodsford and on the lane to Tincleton has three arches of most unusual formation, in that the centre arch is slightly smaller than the outer arches; this was presumably a mistake in setting out. However, it is a very strongly built bridge in good condition and with unusually deep stone copings. The brick invert on the stream bed protects the foundations against scour. (No dating evidence. - The bridge is shown but not described at SY 76959095 on OS 6" 1903 and 1963). <1>
