'FOUR MEDIEVAL PENDANTS. The Dorset corpus of medieval pendants, a familiar class of object thought to have been attached to horse-harness, continues to grow … The four discussed here have all come to light during 1985 … The third pendant (No. 3) comes to the County Museum from the Salisbury and South Wiltshire Museum (194/74). It was donated by Mr S. Cook per Messrs Hudson and Green. The data shows that it was found at Winterbourne Abbas, in the river at approximately SY 623903. Again of Ward-Perkins Type I, the front is decorated with the arms of Mortimer, with substantial areas of blue and green enamel surviving (14th century).'
