(Centred SY 621879). the 'Gaythorne Group' of barrows is situated on naturally hillocky heath, now largely arable, making it uncertain which rises are barrows. 'A' Almost certainly natural. <4>
'A' SY 61888788. Nothing visible on the ground at this reference. About 20.0m east is the end of a prominent lynchet.
Of this group of mounds only 'E' is certainly indentifiable now, as a barrow. 'A' and 'B' deleted from 1:2500 MSD. <5>
A possible Bronze Age bowl barrow, measuring approximately 20 metres in diameter, is visible as a low earthwork on aerial photographs <8> and was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project. It is one of a group of potential barrows located on Blagdon Hill (MDO3421-4 & MDO3376-9).
