Full Description

(Centred SY 621879). the 'Gaythorne Group' of barrows is situated on naturally hillocky heath, now largely arable, making it uncertain which rises are barrows. 'C', 'D', 'E' and 'G', described below, are all under grass.

'D' Probable bowl barrow. Irregular oval mound 70ft by 50ft by 2ft high. 'G' Probable bowl barrow about 35 ft diameter by 1 1/2ft high. It forms a short alignment with 'C' and 'D'. <3-4>

'D' SY 62148798. A mutilated mound approximately 18.0m. in diameter and 0.5m high, cut on the north by the road. No visible ditch. Of this group of mounds only 'E' is certainly indentifiable now, as a barrow. 'C', 'D', 'E' and 'G' re-surveyed at 1:2500 on MSD. <5>

18.0m diameter and 0.5m high. Cut on N by a road. No visible ditch. Apparently unploughed. In field of permanent pasture and visible as a low rise.
