Summary

Mound, possibly a ditched bowl barrow of Bronze Age date, recorded as an extant earthwork by RCHM and also visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs

Full Description

SY 60528831. A mound, probably a bowl barrow, at present under the plough. It is 18.0m in diameter and 0.7m high. There is no soil mark or evidence of a ditch. The mound is of earth construction with some large flints towards the centre. <1>

SY 60528833. Mound, possibly a ditched bowl barrow. Diameter 42ft, height 2ft. It is situated at a 'Celtic' field corner. <2>

SY 60528832. A ploughed-down mound as described by 1 and 2. An old field bank cuts across its south side. Surveyed at 1:2500 on MSD. <3>

It is also visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs <6>, approximately 13 metres in diameter, and was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
