Full Description

The OS 1st edn 25in map (1892) (1) shows a track crossing the spine of the Isle of Portland from W to E by a zig-zag route with a number of hairpin corners. The OS 3rd edn 1:2500 map (1929) (2) marks the route as 'Zigzag Road'. Part of it is now known as Verne Common Road.
