Full Description
'B' A grass covered bowl barrow, diameter 11.0m, height 1.7m. Past ploughing has probably given the berm effect visible on the NW side and the top has been dug into. <2>
Group of five barrows on Pound Hill: 'B' (Winterbourne Abbas No 53) - SY 62309082. Bowl barrow 34 ft diameter and 5 1/2 ft high. Disturbed. <3> <5>
B: SY 62309082. Bowl barrow, 11.5 by 10.5 metres and 1.7 metres high. 'B' and 'C' have not been ploughed over. Re-surveyed at 1:2500 on M.S.D. <6>
Site of a Bronze Age bowl barrow visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs. It is part of a wider barrow cemetery, including a disc barrow (MDO3425) and a possible twin barrow or long barrow (MDO3407). <9-11>

‘Dimensions as above. The barrow is situated in a regularly ploughed field of ley pasture. The mound itself is unploughed but the perimeter has been steepened by basal ploughing particularly on the north. The mound is severely mutilated; with the top of the mound damaged by previous excavation. 1/4/D.’
