Full Description

A structure projecting more than 100m from the shore is shown on the OS 3rd edn 1:2500 map (1929) (1) but is not identified; earlier maps show a shorter feature extending only to Low Water Mark. The feature is identified on the 5th edn map (2) as 'Outfall', presumably associated with the local sewerage system.
