‘Sim’s Close and Cottage, Cowgrove … A cottage, now demolished, is shown on the 1774 map (D/BKL Woodward map Q) where it is described as Sim’s Close and cottage part of William White’s tenement. It is also shown on the 1847 tithe map. Condition: Building rubble is visible after ploughing at this location. The field beside the house was arable in 1774.’
