Summary

A cottage built in the late-sixteenth or early seventeenth century, with nineteenth-century and later additions and alterations. The walls are timber-framed with plastered infill, partly rebuilt in brick. It has a thatched roof and brick chimney stack. Surviving internal features are reported to include plank-and-muntin partitions and chamfered ceiling beams.

‘(32) COTTAGE (99440095), of one storey with an attic, has timber-framed walls and a thatched roof; it is of early 17th century origin, but has been somewhat altered. Inside, the plan is of class S. The ground-floor rooms have original chamfered beams, but the open fireplace is modern.’
