Full Description
Port Field was one of the common fields of Christchurch, probably of medieval orgin. It is shown on the OS 1st edn 25in map (1871) (1) but was enclosed by an award of 1878 (2). Much of it was subsequently built over, excepting a 'stint ground' for grazing and a recreation ground.
