Full Description
A substantial complex of buildings shown on the OS 2nd edn 25in map (1898) (1) was marked Christchurch Union workhouse. It was not shown on the OS 1st edn of 1871 (2). The OS 4th edn map (1933) (3) showed the complex as part of Fairmile House Institution (Bournemouth Corporation). The site has subsequently been redeveloped for housing.
