Full Description
A small waterworks, named as West Hampshire Water Works Co, is shown at the east end of Mill Road, Christchurch, alongside the River Avon, on the OS 2nd edn 25in map (1898) (1). Later maps (2, 3) show substantial expansion of the complex, with the addition of an engine house, filter beds, a filter house, a small reservoir, a pump house and other buildings, with a dam across the Avon. A substantial pumping station (MDO33064) was added nearby to the S.
