Full Description
The OS 3rd edn 25 in map (1909) (1) shows a substantial building of approximately 600 sq m marked 'Electricity Station' on a site on the E side of Bargates, Christchurch. The site backed onto the River Avon at Brewhouse Hole but it is not clear whether there were facilities there for shipping in fuel for the station. The principal building on the site appears to be extant.
