Full Description
The OS 1st edn 25in map (1871) (1) shows a ford on a track running W from Stony Lane, Burton, to cross the Clockhouse Stream to low-lying fields on the E side of the River Avon. The depiction of the ford on this and subsequent maps hints that it was of some length, possibly more than 150m, intersecting a number iof drainage channel, and there may therefore have been some structural element to it.
