Full Description

The OS 1st edn 25in map (1871) (1) shows a partly overgrown feature as 'Old Gravel Pit', within the grounds of the early 19th century country house known as Bure Homage (MWX1187). It is possible that its operation predates the construction of the house and laying out of its grounds. The site has been developed for housing.
