Full Description

A pumping station, marked as Christchurch Sewage Works, is shown on the OS 4th edn 1:2500 map (1933) (1), on a site on the S side of Queen's Avenue, Christchurch. It was built immediately adjacent to a site previously marked on maps (2) in antiquity script as the location of a fishpond (MDO19893), possibly associated with Christchurch priory.
