Full Description
The OS 1st edn 25in map (1870) (1) shows an earthwork mound marked 'Tumulus (Urns & Crucible found here)' on a surviving area of rough ground isolated within an area of improved fields. The 2nd edn map (1898) (2) did not show the earthwork and marked the location as 'Tumulus (Site of)'; the former area of rough ground had by this time been improved and the site of the barrow lay within a large field. The site was developed for housing in the later 20th century (3).
