[Group Centred SY59139055] TUMULI [OE] (1)

A [SY59209051] Pond barrow at earthen circle. No signs of ditch. Centred area seems lower than adjacent natural level. (2)

A Pond barrow. Enclosed area 90 ft diam, 1 ft deep. Outer bank 15 ft wide, 2 ft high (Paces coverted to ft)
B. Bell barrow. Mound. Diameter 90 ft, height 11 ft, Berm 9ft wide. Ditch 12 ft wide, 1 ft deep (paces converted to ft)
C. Bowl barrow. Diameter 24 paces, height 7 ft.
D and E. Twin bell barrow. D. 60 ft diameter, 7 ft high with a berm 12ft wide. E.63 ft diameter, 7ft high with a berm 15ft
wide and an outer ditch 15ft wide and 1ft deep (?). The south and south west sides of this site are obscured by a hedge and
road; the berm and ditch are in good condition on the north west. (3)

A. A pond barrow, overall diameter 30.0m, the bank being 5.0m wide and 0.6m high. The NE part of the barrow destroyed by a
modern road. Tree covered.

B. A grass covered bell barrow 34.0m diameter and 3.0m high, the berm being 4.0m wide. A ditch 4.0m wide and 0.2m deep
except where it is crossed on the W. by a grass track.

C. A tree covered bowl barrow, diameter 16.0m, height 2.0m, with a ditch 2.0m wide and 0.2m deep.

D&E As in T3 each approx 3.0m high and diameter 17.0m. Only E has a ditch around the NW and NE 4.0m wide and 0.3m deep.

'Bell (59129066) at foot of slope 233 yds. S.W.W. of (24). Diam. 60 ft., ht. 7 ft., with berm and ditch each about 15 ft. wide. Perhaps forms double bell with (27).'

As above but no visible ditch. Basal ploughing has cut back slight surviving berm on SW. Quarry on south side has taken away some of the barrow. C18th pot and rubble suggest a dump on the east. The barrow is situated in ley pasture and it has patches of gorse and hawthorn, particularly on the southern side. 1/3/C
