Full Description

The OS 3rd edn 25in map (1909) (1) shows a small building marked 'laundry' at the rear of a yard behind a house on Castlemain Road (now Castlemain Avenue), West Southbourne. Castlemmain Road was at that date only partly developed and the site was close to the edge of the built-up suburban area.
