Full Description

A Rocket Post for lifesaving is shown on the cliff-top adjacent to what is now Southbourne Coast Road OS 4th edn 1:2500 map (1924) (1). It may have been associated with the coastguard station at Southbourne and have replaced a Rocket Post shown 300m to the E on earlier maps but no longer extant because of coastal erosion by the 1920s.
