A small rectangular structure at the rear of the beach below Southbourne Overcliff Drive, Bournemouth, is marked 'Lavatory' on the OS 4th edn 1:2500 map (1924) (1). The 5th edn map (2) shows a larger structure marked Lavatories on the same site as part of the facilities associated with the promenade built since the previous edition.
