'11. Wake Court, Bishops Caundle. ST(31)/70001232. During the laying of a floor in a barn at the south side of the farm, several burials extended east and west were exposed varying in depth from floor level to 18 ins. Below. No dateable objects were exposed. Sir Arthur Keith expressed the opinion that these were "Norman or earlier".'

'Wake Court, site of line of graves (2 ft deep) thought to be of soldiers killed in a local skirmish in the Civil War (1642/6).'
