Full Description
A possible enclosed settlement comprising at least two offset, conjoined sub-rectangular to polygonal ditched enclosures clearly visible on aerial photographs dated 2005 and 2009. The eastern enclosure is rather larger than the western, and less regular in plan. The complex occupies an area of at least c150m (east-west) by at least c90m (north-south), but its northern extents are not well-defined. The eastern enclosure is traversed by a hedge forming the boundary between Winterborne Kingston and Anderson parishes.
A possible Iron Age or Roman enclosed settlement is visible as cropmarks on aerial photography taken in 2005 and 2009 <1-2>. The site comprises parts of at least four smaller conjoined enclosures within a larger polygonal enclosure. Two linears to the west of the site are likely to be contemporary field boundaries. The features were digitally recorded during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM.
