Full Description

A long flight of steps named Joseph's Steps is shown mounting the West Cliff on the OS 2nd edn 25in map (1898) (1), at a point marked on the 1st edn (2) as Little Durley Chine, presumably a natural break in the cliff line. Later maps (3, 4) show a landing half way up the flight of steps and subsequent replacement by a zig-zag path.
