Full Description

The OS 2nd edn 25in map (1898) (1) shows a network of paths on the heathy area behind the coastal cliffs, with steps (including zig-zag formations) providing access up the steep sides of the Chine. Small structures - probably shelters or seats - are spaced along some of the paths. The network appears to have been constructed since the OS 1st edn 25in map (1870) (2); many of the paths and steps are still extant.
