Full Description

The OS 3rd edn 1:2500 map (1925) (1) shows the 'Coronation Room' on a site on the S side of Blandford Road (then Hamworthy Road). It was not shown on the OS 2nd edn 25in map (1901) (the site was then occupied by a rope walk (MWX1011)) and the coronation commemorated is likely to have been either that of Edward VII in 1901 or George V in 1910. The 4th edn 1:2500 map (1933) (2) shows 'St Michael's Hall' immediately to the S of the Coronation Room.
