Full Description
A terrace of 10 houses on a site S ofBlandford Road (then Hamworthy Road) was marked as 'Almshouses' on the OS 3rd edn 1:2500 map (1925) (1). They are not shown on earlier maps. The terrace lay on the W side of a 1.5 ha enclosed area with trees shown around the boundaries. The terrace is identified as 'Carter's Cottages' on the OS 5th edn 1:2500 map (1955) (2). The enclosed space to the E of the almshouses was developed in the period before 1971 (3).
