Full Description

A clay pit with an 'aerial cable' (? telepherique) is shown on the OS 4th edn 1:2500 map (1937) (1). The pit had expanded considerably by the time of the 5th edn (1955) (2), apparently extending over the site of three detached early 20th century villas and their grounds at its eastern end.
