Full Description

Three curvilinear enclosures on Stoborough Heath within an area shown as coniferous planting are marked on the OS 1st edn 25in map (1889) (1). The large northern enclosure is named Bartlett's Firs, probably referring to the Bartlett family, which held land in the area during the 18th and 19th centuries (Dorset History Centre D/SEN/30/).
