Full Description

The OS 6th edn 1:2500 map (1984) (1) and current OS mapping (2) show a mine and shaft, both marked as disused, within an enclosure. Nothing is shown on the site on earlier maps. It is uncertain what was mined on the site, possibly ball clay, which has been extracted in the wider area around the site.
