Summary

Bowl barrow shown on a plan by E Cunnington in the late nineteenth century, subsequently rediscovered as a crop mark. Visible on RAF aerial photographs from 1947 {1}. The site was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.

Full Description

Three round barrows are shown in the field centred SY 653870 on a map made by E Cunnington in the late 19th century (see illustration). <1>

Air photographs show three soil marks in the field at approximately the same positions. <2>

No remains of these barrows are visible on the ground. The field is under crop. <3>
